end of the moto because he believed the Italian should have let him go ahead to help him win the title. "I have no orders from the team on this," Lazzarini said. "I would help him only if that's what Husqvarna tell me to do and possibly at the last round. I do not see reasons to do so before." In the second moto, VDB got another good start, but this time around he wasn't able to lose the group that was trailing him. VDB went down after making a small mistake on lap six, but he was able to jump back on the bike and continue. Hiemer, who was again running second, took the lead after VDB crashed, but Lazzarini's pace was superior, and he got past the German with little more than six laps left, taking the lead. Just a couple of laps later, VDB, who was third, was passing outside a lapped rider, who didn't see him, and when they crossed each other's lines, VDB went down hard and hit his wrist. Meanwhile, Lazzarini solidly controlled the remainder of the race and won, ahead of Hiemer and Delepine. The standings still have the German specialist Hiemer in first place, followed by Delepine, who has only a two-point gap to close now to reach him. VDB is third and Lazzarini fourth. S2 The Irish track was impressively fast. In particular, the corner getting into the never-ending starting straight (where the SI riders reached almost a 120 mph) was already fast itself, and Chambon proved he could easily squeeze every one of the horsepower from his factory KTM on every part of the circuit. He was pretty fast on Friday already when provisional standings leader Eddy Seel took the provisional pole with a slight margin on him. But in SuperPole, Chambon put everyone behind him, including fast runners Stephane Blot, Seel and Thomas Chareyre. Thomas Chareyre (brother of his teammate Adrien Chareyre) took the eearly lead in moto one but went down right away, taking British rider Matthew Winstaley with him. Cham bon, who was third, inherited the lead and then rode away from the rest of the pack, taking the win. Behind him were some pretty interesting, exciting battles. Fred Bolley, Adrien Chareyre and reigning S2 World Champion Gerome Giraudo mixed it up heavily, and in the end Bolley finished second, with Giraudo and Chareyre following to complete a French quartet at the front of the field. SeeI was fifth after a really bad start and a slow advance as the result of a bad tire selection. The second moto had a different beginning but the same end, only because in this case Chambon got the lead and kept it until the finish. Seel, who had a much better start, didn't struggle as he had in the first moto, and he gained ground on Chambon. With a couple more Not So Happy: There was discord between Husky teammates Lazzarini (center) and event runner-up Gerald Delepine (left), as Delepine felt that Lazzarini should have moved over and let him by in the first moto to assist him in the championship chase. Previous-round winner and series points leader Bernd Hiemer (right) was third overall in Ireland. laps, he may have been able to attack Chambon, but he simply ran out of laps. Behind the front two was a battle among the usual suspects, Bolley, Giraudo, the Chareyre brothers and Massimo Beltrami. Bolley confirmed his good form by finishing in third place (to net second overall, ahead of Seel), followed by Aprilia teammate Giraudo, Beltrami and Adrien and Thomas Chareyre. SeeI now holds a 10-point lead over Adrien Chareyre in the series standings, but Cham bon's title hopes are still very much alive. Bolley is fourth, ahead of Beltrami. This round didn't see Husky's Davide Gouini due to a practice crash in which he broke his humerus. He'll likely be back at the Greek round.
