Clear Channel Entertainment's Motor Sports has announced today that the AHA National Arenacross Series will implement transponder timing and scoring by AMB for the upcoming 200S-06 season. "The addition of transponder timing and scoring to the AHA National Arenacross Series is a huge step forward in helping to monitor and develop riders' skills," American Suzuki's Cole Gress said. "The electronic timing system, which is similar to the system that we use at supercross events, will provide riders and teams the opportunity to track lap times throughout the race to gauge their performance, optimum speed and endurance." "The data that's generated from the transponders to our computers is not only utilized as a tool for the race teams and riders, but is a very important element for the spectators and live event announcers," said Todd Jendro, senior director of operations, Clear Channel Entertainment's Motor Sports division for Supercross and Arenacross. "Additionally, the transponders are an excellent compliment for local, national and industry media as well as TV production. Our goal is to implement the timing and scoring system for the AHA National Arenacross Series that is very consistent with its counterpart, the THQ World Supercross GPITHQ AHA Supercross Series."
