Brown Out
While at this time there isn't enough information to determine what actually happened, I think it's totally unprofessional of
the AMA to rescind their invitation to Mike
Brown to participate in the Motocross des
Nations.
If he was willing to pay for his own
expenses, recruit his own sponsors and
take the time to represent America, he
should go. He's a great rider, champion and
would have been a quality representative of
our team. Shame on Steve Whitelock and
the AMA, or whoever was involved in this
debacle.
As a lifetime member of the AMA, I
would have been proud to have Mike
Brown compete and represent our great
American team.

I think it really blows that Mike Brown got
"fired" from the Motocross des Nations
team. I, for one, was 100 percent behind
the call. He has European experience and a
strong desire to return there to redeem
himself on a bike that is set up for him. Why
give it to him in the first place if everyone
wasn't happy with it? And why do this to
him once he was chosen?
If he changed his mind and didn't want to
go (despite what he allegedly told RC's
mechanic) that would be one thing, but to
read his response, he was more than anxious to go and I think more qualified than
anyone who wasn't already picked. It's a
real shame that the MXdN gets yet another black cloud over it.
