Beginner class, while his brother Chad Thomas found the going a
little harder in the 65cc Beginner class, Chad took his KfM to the
win in the first moto but went down while leading the second
moto on the last lap, allowing Kip Guidry to post the victory. Ty
Rogers took second overall, with Blake Lagarde in third.
Sam Landry made his debut race after a whole year's lay-off.
The Suzuki jockey got knocked around early by series champ
Cory Lacoste, on his Kawasaki, in the first B5cc (12-15) moto.
By the second lap, Landry finally got untracked and took over
the lead, but Lacoste hung on his tail all the way to the finish
line. The two young riders put on another show for the crowds
in the grandstands in the second moto, with Landry edging out
the determined Lacoste at the checkers.
Chad Pattison led early in the 50ce Open class until Gage
Hutchinson took over to begin an impressive run of winning for the
night; he went on to win four motos, and finished in the top three
in four more. During his interview he revealed his training secret.
"I'd like to thank Jesus and Mom and Dad and Champion
Cycles and All Pro Audio," he said before revealing his training
secret: "I playa lot all day."
Now that's the kind of training regiment most of us could
eN
live with!
