pavilion that's almost completely enclosed (to help riders and their families cool off on those hot summer days), and a pit-bike track. Those who break or forget a part for their bike need not worry; South Fork also has a parts counter. Launching out of the gate for the first 50cc Senior mota were Keeze Carver and 12 other young hopefuls. As the pack made its way around the track, Jacob Smothers made the pass and moved into first. Zachary Loehr moved up to the leaders but couldn't quite seem to reel them in, so he held on to third. Mota two started out the same: with Carver out front. This time Smothers just couldn't get the pass completed. These two rode side by side for half the race before Smothers washed out in a berm, taking Loehr with him. Both riders got up and finished, with Smothers holding on to second, behind Carver, and Loehr taking third. Brant Hanshaw made fIVe successful laps around the track in the 125cc C class without any competition in moto one. Joe Geekie, on the other hand, had to hold off Blake Shiman. While Shiman was trying to make the pass on Geekie, he didn't know that Jacob Lee was passing riders on every lap, and by the last lap Lee had moved into third and was hammering down on Geekie, but the checkered flag was flying and they were out of track. Moto two is the last chance a rider has at dominating, and the 35 riders in this class were all out for the checkers. Stephen Cecil took the lead on the first lap, followed by Jeremy Stephens. If Hanshaw wanted the overall, he had to get around three other riders. By lap two, Jacob Dye had taken over first. But one wrong move opens the door for everybody else. On lap three, Dye had made a mistake, and he was passed by Hanshaw, Lee and Stephens. The top three riders made it to the last two laps without any more major mistakes. Hanshaw had to fight to get the overall, while Lee took second. Geekie was grateful for his finish, which gave him third overall. RESULTS so Oll·INJ: I. Cassand... Crook; 2. Bryce Austin; J. Battle Creek Motorcycle Club Lobretto Books at Battle Creekl By BART NEWMAN BATTLE CREEK, MI, JULY 17 instorms on night scared away, R;he track was Saturdayshape and had the crowdsjumping but in great the riders for joy as the morning practice sessions came to a close. Josh Lobretto made the short jaunt from Galesburg, Michigan. worthwhile by decimating the competition in the 16-24 and 12Scc B classes, turning in four strong motos aboard his Babbitt Motorspom-backed KX2S0F. In the Vet classes, it was Bob Lewis grabbing wins in both the Over 40 and Over 4S classes aboard his Dolly's Pizza/Tech-Care Suspension/Great Lakes Powersports machine with four convincing moto victories. Lobretto pulled the pack around tum one, with Erik Hardy, Robbie Cribbs and Andrew McNulty nipping at his heels. Hardy's mota took a tum for the worse, as he lost the front end out back, dropping his machine to the ground and handing the pack a large lead. Lobretto spent the winter dominating the AHA District 14 Indoor MX Series, and that's paying off, as he opened up a good lead on the battle for second between Cycle News is perfect for everyone.
