Shimura Suzuki's Aaron Yates
won his third Repsol Lubricants
Superstock final in a row,
today's win coming late on a sultry morning at the Mid-Ohio
Sports Car Course.
Yates took the lead on the fourth of 16
laps, joined at the hip with Jason DiSalvo.
The Graves Motorsports Yamaha rider stuck
with Yates before being slowed by gearbox
problems in the final four laps. At that point,
Yates was able to pull away to a comfortable
win. The margin of victory was S.724 seconds.
"It was good to come out of here with a
win and get a little bit more points cushion,"
Yates said. "Still, we're pretty close for comfort, but there's only two races to go."
With two rounds remaining. Yates leads
DiSalvo by 14 points, 264-2S0.
Yates said he worked through early brake
