The second moto saw Hazel grab the early lead, with Baugh in tow. Bitz struggled temporarily as he worked up from a bad start, finding Hazel and Baugh out of reach by time he reached third - a spot he eventually relinquished late in the moto after a slideout. The only remaining drama unfolded as Hazel suppressed Baugh's challenges on the tight Carson layout to take the moto win and the overall via a 2-1 score. Frank Cody put together one of a handful of multiple-win performances on the night by topping the 250cc Junior and Schoolboy Division Two races. Cody was foilowed by Michael Bergman and jeremiah Gottas in the 250cc contest, and by Danny Tester and Trey Taylor in the Schoolboy race. Division One of the Schoolboy class featured one part of another standout performance by Aron Harvey, who yet again rode to six moto wins on the evening. topping the 125cc Intermediate, 2S0cc Intermediate and Schoolboy classes. The only element that diminished Harvey's performance was the predictability - his dominating rides have recently become more of an expectation than a revelation. Nonetheless, his victories remained the most polished and decisive of the evening. johnny Vaile rio and Andrew Valdez foilowed Harvey for second and third in the Schoolboy race. In Mini action, Austin Ching took an impressive victory in the 65cc junior class, looking very strong on his way to two commanding moto wins. Zach Zito put in a solid second on the evening. and Corwin Mcintosh rode to third overall. RESULTS 50 (4.6) PRVTR: I. Jacob Ukes; 2. Gaige Demars; 3. Austin Walton. 50 (4'"') FCTRY: I. TV Land Pit Bike Summer Series Round 5: PJ's Playground The Pit-Bike Road Show By DENNIS ALBREWCZYNSKI ERIE, PA, JULY 9 The TV Land Pit Bike Summer Series held a field trip to Erie, I Pennsylvania, for round five. Clutch-class points leader P.j. Dylewski hosted the event at his personal "playground." The hot july afternoon kept the track crew busy watering the track to keep the dust down. Hats off to P.J. and crew, as the track closely resembled an AMA Supercross course. Several whoop sections, along with a perfectly groomed rhythm section, highlighted the newly redesigned track. The awards ceremony was held afterward at a local establishment, with some great trophies and door prizes going to the racers. A good time was had by all! Shawn Brink was the man in the 50cc Production class. Finishing first in both motos, Brink has pretty much owned this class this year. Series regulars Trevor Rockwell and Eric Searles made the trip to Erie and finished first and second behind Brink, respectively. jason Hermann made an appearance at his hometown track and won the first moto in the SOcc Open Class. Minibike backnipper Aaron Smith finished second, with Tony Desaro third. With Hermann's first-moto win, it looked like he would be a shoo-in for the overall, but that wasn't to be. Smith got out (ront early in moto two, and Hermann's bad start left him mired in the back of the pack. Smith rode a flawless race to the checkers and got the win. Hermann did manage to work his way up to second, and once again Desaro took third. The overall went to Smith with his second-moto win, Hermann settled for an uncharacteristic second, and Desaro took third.
