third Fast Time award of the year, despite having ridden in only five events. "Crazy Jake" Tackitt topped the 160-foot hill in 4.434 seconds in the 600cc class to set the early time to beat, but Fortner delivered a sizzling, full-throttle assault on the hill, flying high and far off the second breaker, landing perfectly and shooting over the top in 4.337 seconds to take the class win from Tackitt - and set the Fast Time of the night. Josh Denson was third on his Revloc KX540, in 4.505 seconds. Tackitt still had a good night, however, claiming two class wins to go with his second. His first win came in the 200cc class on his vintage 1984 KDX, when he came from behind to overtake Kevin "Bubba" Bond and Gordon Green with a second-round 5.089-second run. Bond posted a 5.462-second time for second place, with Green running third in 5.504 seconds. Riding a borrowed KX2S0, Tackitt delivered a fine 4.815- second time in the 250cc class on his first ride. Class leader Mike Popham, however, nailed a 4.809-second time on his second ride to take the lead - but Tackitt was up to the challenge, responding with a very quick 4.602-second run for the class win. Shane Green claimed third in 4.868 seconds on his YZ2S0. "Bubba" was also a double winner, on top of his second place. His first win came in the 125cc class, where he topped the hill in 5.288 seconds on his first ride - a time no other rider could match on either ride. Bond ran again anyway, however, and turned an even faster 5.260-second time for the win. Justin Trent was close to him in second place with a 5.305-second time. Bond's second win came in the 400cc Stock class, riding a MillVillE. MN 2 5 ~~WEEKEND PRO NATIONAL NIJIIllIIY: ~.iai AUGUST 10TH - 14TH KTM 250 borrowed from Bud Northrup. He was a little shaky on his first ride on a strange stock-length bike and posted a 5.597-second time to find himself in fourth place, with Danny Schuman in first with a 5. I63-second time at halftime. On his second ride, however, Bond shot up the hill and flew off the big breaker and kept the franc end down, sailing over the top in 5.141 seconds to sneak under Schuman, who couldn't improve on his first ride. Brent Bowman was third in 5.229 seconds. In Youth-class action, Dakota Blakeney was the fast guy. Riding his KX65, the youngster topped the hill in an amazing 5.321 seconds to take the class win, and also take the Youth Fast Time award. He returned in the 85cc class on his RM85 and turned in an excellent 5.499-second run, but he had to settle for second place, as the district points leader, Caleb Emory, flew his K..X85 over the top in 5.380 seconds for that class win. Kolt Kinsler was the SOcc-c1ass winner, while Blake Cappello claimed the 8Scc Senior Mini win. RESULTS 50 AUTO: I. Kolt Kinsler (KTM): 2. Garett Holycross (KTM); 3. Dakota Watson (Pol): 4.
