Second place went to a convincing Manzo, who is finally starting to enjoy some favorable results on the factory Aprilia. British rider Iddon was third on his Husaberg. Fabrice Lecoanet, in fourth place, completed a long-awaited good day for Aprilia in SI. Husqvarna's Ivan Lazzarini suffered a flat tire in the early laps. Hiemer now sits atop the SI points standings, with Delepine second and the injured van Den Bosch third. S2 If his results in Melk are a good indication, Red Bull KTM's Boris Chambon is back in championship form, as he pulled off the overall win in S2, although two other Frenchmen joined him in the battle for the win: former World MX Champion Frederic Bailey and Husqvarna France's young prospect, Adrien Chareyre. Happy with both his bike and the racing course, Chambon got the best time on Saturday, but on Sunday he lost the first spot on the grid to Chareyre, who grabbed it by winning Superpole. The first race featured a lot of passing. Bailey got the holeshot, but after two laps, Chambon moved into the lead. While Cham bon held down the front spot, Chareyre and Bailey had a long fight for second place, and on the penultimate lap Chareyre was also up there, with any of the three capable of taking the lead away from Chambon. The experienced Chambon held on, however, taking the win, ahead of Chareyre and Bailey. Chambon got a less than stellar start in motor two, and Chareyre went to the front and remained there for six laps until Bailey was able to pass him. The battle for second place was again interesting, with a pretty determined Chambon gaining ground on Chareyre. With three laps left, Chambon was able to to put Chareyre behind him and take second place. Bailey won the mota, while Chambon's 1-2 scores were good enough for the overall win. Bailey was second overall, with Chareyre third in mota two and third overall. Giraudo finished fourth in mota two despite experiencing a vibration from his rear tire. Since his bike broke in the first mota, however, the second-mota finish did little to help his results. The factory Husky duo of Eddy Seel and Davide Gozzini had an up-and-down race. Seel finished fourth overall, but he still controls the provisional standings after round four, closely followed by Chareyre and Chambon. eN OMTC MOTORSPORTZENTRUM MELK, AUSTRIA RESULTS: JUNE 19, 2005 (ROUND 4 OF 9) SI OVEIIAL.C I.
