"Myself and Brownie, 32 and 33 [years old], up here with our own littie privateer team," Hughes, who went 8-2 to get on the podium, said. "Everybody says you have to be young and be on a factory team to be up here, so I have to laugh at that. Last year I was on a 125, it felt like a I IO. This year I got on the 250 and thought, 'Hmm, I've still got a little bit of speed.' Anything can happen. The effort would put him on the podium for the third straight time - the only rider in the 125 class to do so this year. "It was a good day," Brown said, "not the best day, but I still have the points lead. My goal is to be in the top three - did that again this week even though I didn't ride my best. In the second moto, I got a little tired. Think I overdid it training with Ricky [Carmichael]. But I look forward to 26 getting back, doing my best each moto, and that's all I can do really." Brown and Hughes had to deal with a slew of hard-charging young stallions to make the podium, most of them at least a decade younger than the two veteran privateers.
