signifies the series leader), which was taken by race winner van den Bosch. S2 Every time the S2 class is on the track, there is no time to get bored. At every round so far, either due to battles among the riders or battles with the weather conditions, S2 has featured two different winners. In Sosnova three major things characterized the GP: the first WSM win of Massimo Beltrami, the return to form of Boris Cham bon and the up-and-down perfonmance of Eddy See!. Beltrami rode consistently through the entire weekend. He was among the top four out of the timed practices (first was Chambon followed by Seel, Beltrami and Massimo Verderosa) and was also in the battle for the podium in both the heats. In the first one, he exited the first corner in good company with Verderosa and See!. Then Seel took the lead, and Beltrami was second till the penultimate lap, when Yamaha-France's Stephane Blot passed him. In the second moto, he put himself immediately behind race leader Chambon and stayed there till the end to become the overall race winner. Chambon's day was absolutely the kind that he needed to remind himself who he is. After two really lowperformance races in Italy and in Belgium, he was again super fast in this third round. The first heat didn't go the way he wanted. With the rain falling down and a bad start, he was mired in the middle of the pack for the entire race and finished ninth. But in the second moto, Chambon dominated. SeeI in Sosnova showed how strong and how fragile he can be at the same time. In moto one, he showed the best of his skills, and with the rainy conditions, he was without equal as he went on to win the first moto. In the second moto, though, See I went down while entering the off-road section, and he then made another mistake later in the race. He simply was not able to get back to focus, and he finished down in 18th place. But still, after Sosnova, Seel owns the provisional leadership in S2. Third overall was 2004 World Champion Jerome Giraudo, who seems to be fighting his way back to competitive form after struggling in the first two rounds. eN CZECH GP 50SNOVA, CncH R£PUBUC RESULTS: MAy 22, 2005 (ROUND 3 OF 10) 5 I OVERALL: I.
