Alessi came out of nowhere. Alessi grabbed
the holeshot and took a firn-moto lead that
he would never relinquish. Hot on Alessi's
heels early on were Andrew Short; Tedesco
and his teammate Matt Walker; Japanese
star, Motosport Oudet's Akira NaJita; and
Hepler, though all would succumb to the
speed of Alessi.
When the two-lap sign came up, Alessi
had a 14-second lead over Millsaps and was
able to cruise to the first-moto win.
A bit off the pace in the second moto but
blazing fast in the firn moto was Short, who
went 3-7 for fourth overall on the factorybacked Honda
Also making a solid bid at the podium was
High Point fan favorite Ryan Hughes. He
went 5-6 for fifth overall. From there
AmsoiVChaparral/Honda's Josh Grant rode
a near-flawless second moto and was joined
by former teammate and current Red Bull
KTM rider Ryan Mills in the top fIVe of the
second moto.
As for the previous week's winner,
Grant u.ngston, the High Point race
ended early. The Kawasaki rider went
