~---;-:-Happe------'-------ningS~in Mot"---orcyc""------"ling X'tremey Award§ Impact Video's fifth annual Xtremey Awards Show was held on Tuesday night, May 10, at the Shark Club in Costa Mesa, California. A select group of well-known and respected VIPs and ex-racers turned out, along with the cream of the crop in motorcycle and extreme action sports, video producers and assorted industry personalities. Co-hosted by Impact Video's Docy Andrews and Alpinestars' Malcolm McCassy, several star presenters handed out awards in various categories, nominated by the staff of Impact Video, which were voted for online by customers and motorsports enthusiasts. Best Documentary Video went to Faster, the MotoGP epic produced by Spark Productions. Mike Metzger, the "Godfather of Freestyle," was on hand to present the Perennial Award honoring those who have made long-term contributions to the powersports video world - to Fleshwound Films' Dana Nicholson and john Freeman for their popular Crusty Demons of Dirt series. Baja racer Mouse McCoy, who is featured in the current theatrical release of Dust to Glory, presented the Honorary Achievement Award to legendary off-road truck racer Ivan "Ironman" Stewart. Stewart gave a heartfelt acknowledgement onstage, encouraging racers and video producers alike to pursue their dreams and never give up. Ivan Stewart: Racing Baja and Beyond, produced by ProTruck and Clubhouse Productions, won the award for Best Dirt Competition Video. Dana Brown (who has continued with his father Bruce Brown's legacy by producing Endless Summer II, Step Into Uquid and Dust to Glory) presented the award for Best Cinematography in a Powersports Film to On the Pipe, produced by Powerband Films. Former World Speedway Champion Bruce Penhall and sportbike freestyle rider Mark Colbert presented the award for Best Performance in a Sportbike Video to Darius Khashabi in Servin' It Up III, which also swept the award for Best Freestyle Sportbike Video. The award for Best Sportbike Competition Video went to Supermoto in the USA, produced by KTM North America. Clear Channel Supercross floor announcer Erin Bates and longtime motorcycle photographer joe Bonnello took the stage to give the award to Travis Pastrana ond the Nitro Circus II, produced by Godfrey Films, for Best MX Freestyle Video. Travis Pastrana also won the award for Best MX Freestyle Rider. Mark Howard and joe Colombero presented the award for Most Innovative Video to Motorheod, produced by Rich Van Every and the Martelli Brothers. PWC (personal watercraft) racing legend Victor Sheldon and former World and National Motocross Champion Greg Albertyn presented the award for Best Performance in a Snowmobile Video to Shawn Hastings in Thunderstruck 3. Best Snowmobile Video went to Slednecks VII, produced by Peak Productions, and Best Instructional Video went to Jeremy McGrath: Techniques of a Champion, produced by Clutch Films. Impact Video is also active in the action sports market and included awards for outstanding videos in the Surf, Skateboard, BMX, Mountain Bike, AlY, Off-Road and Snowmobile categories.
