NELSON AND TOM RILES he Repsol Lubricants Superstock final was more of a wrestling match than a race. On a hot day at the Pikes Peak International Raceway bullring, the big production 1000s had little grip at the start and even less at the end. The order of the day was hanging on, the longer the better. Yoshimura Suzuki's Aaron Yates hung on as long as he could. For 24 laps he set the pace, though with little comfort: Graves Motorsports Yamaha's Jamie Hacking and Kawasaki's Tommy Hayden were in his wheel tracks. Then Yates made a mistake and Hacking pounced.
