STORY AND PHOTOS BY JONTY EDMUNDS
he 'os World Enduro Championship moved on to Portugal for
round two of the series, where the wetter-than-expected
conditions of the championship opener in Spain were replaced
by clear skies, dusty tracks and another challenging event.
With the opening round of the series having thrown in more
than a few surprise results, the Portuguese race saw the same riders that
performed well in Spain fill the podium positions.
Topping the Enduro I class both days, Spaniard Ivan Cervantes, aboard
his 2s0cc four-stroke KTM, extended his championship lead with two nearfaultless rides. Finishing day one just under 20 seconds clear at the top of
the class, the former motocross rider then topped day two by 21 seconds
to make it four wins from four starts so far in '05.
