the most notable being Ed McCoy working his way up through the pack to an eventual fourth overall, behind the young, CRF450R-mounted Honea. Next came Soule in fifth, followed by Michael Kirsch. Darrol Brown. Titan McKibben, Pete Neely and Larry Wright finished out the top 10 overall. "I felt I rode a good, strong race," Reno Motorsports-backed Alosi commented, "but I wish I would have made a few less mistakes and not have given up the lead. It was fun to go back and forth with Jesse." On Saturday, Josh Morros again took the win in the IOOcc class, this time over Ross Neely and Miles Brazil. Ty Tremaine, Jake Frias and Kenneth Worley each topped their competitors in the 65cc Expert, Amateur and Novice classes, respectively. In the SOcc (6 and Under) class, hotshot Kevin Kirk was the day's winner for the second time in as many tries, while Brody Honea topped the 50cc (7 and Over) class. RESULTS SO (0-6): I. And there was some great racing - in the 8Scc Beginner class, no less! Halen Holt drew first blood, leading Sean O'Brien and Francesco Hackett when the gate dropped for moto one. Andrew Martinez quickly charged up and was pressuring the lead group until he slid out before the finish line. Holt kicked out the jams and cranked up the pace, opening a slight lead, while Hackett and O'Brien were battling madly over second. Hackett finally broke free from O'Brien and made a late-race push to catch Holt. The entire last lap was one wild, barto-bar brawl, with passing and repaSSing a common occurrence. The last few turns saw several passes until, in the very last turn, the two riders collided. Neither went down, and, in a dramatic - if wobbly - photo-finish, Holt nudged out Hackett by a knobby or two. Third-place finisher O'Brien was determined to step it a notch, ripping off the line to lead Hackett and Holt when the second half fired up. Hackett went down early in a corner, and Jarrett Tyler moved into third. Holt waited until lap two to strike, launching past O'Brien over the big step-up to take the lead. Holt immediately put it in overdrive - there would be no dose finish this time - while Hackett was slowly claWing his way back toward the front after his wreck. Holt maintained his lead at the front, but Hackett was drawing ever closer to O'Brien with every lap. Holt nashed through the pipes to win his second straight moto, along with the overall 85cc Beginner title. O'Brien held off Hackett's charge to claim second, which was also good enough for him to edge Hackett for second overall. Martinez followed to lead Tyler and Matt Pons in the final standings.
