Yamaha riders dominated the opening mota of the MX2 class as Cairoli led Australian Andrew McFarlane, Davide Guarneri and Chiodi - all aboard Yamahas. As the race moved into the later stages, series leader Tyla Rattray had moved 38 APRIL 27,2005 • up from ninth on the first lap and into fourth. Cedric Melotte had also struggled in the early going but like Rattray moved from 10th on lap one to sixth at the finish. Cairoli won the moto, followed by Chiodi and Eggens to complete the podium.
