With just enough rain to make the track perfect, several hundred riders made their bid for a place in the most popular amateur race. Topping the 12Scc NPro Sport class was Thomas Hahn, a Fac,ory Connection Honda rider who's making a name for himself in the West Coast Supercross Series. Hahn didn't get a stellar start in the first moto, however. Most spectators thought he let ,he field go off ,he ga,e wi,hou, him on purpose; when questioned afterward, Hahn admitted sheepishly that he'd stalled his bike on the gate and had trouble getting it restarted. Yet he had no trouble catching the rest of the field and passing 10 other riders for the win. Honda riders Adam Chatfield and Cory Green finished second and third, respectively, Moto two went a little better for Hahn, as he left the gate with everyone else. Green nabbed ,he holesho" wi,h Hahn close behind. A step-up claimed Green before the end of lap two, leaving Hahn to take the win. Ronny Jackson, yet another Honda rider, kept close to Hahn and claimed second, with Chatfield follOWing in third. Hahn, Chatfield and Jackson took the top three overall. Kawasaki rider Ryan Villopoto dominated 'he 250cc/Open B Modified class, nailing ,he holeshot in both motos and leading wire to wire. Behind him, battling for second, were Yamaha jockey Jimmy Albertson and another Hahn on a Honda, Tommy's brother Wil. Albertson managed to take second in both motos, relegating Wil to third. The overall results were the same. In ,he 125cc C Modified class, Honda pilo, Tyler Bate got the jump of( the gate, but Eric Espe took the lead early on his Kawi, and Cory Tallent followed on his Yamaha. Bate managed to get back around Tallent on the white-flag lap to take second, behind Espe. Yamaha jockey Jason Scanlan moved into third, dropping Tallent fourth. Moto two saw a pile-up in the first turn, but Espe came out clean and in front. Honda jockey James Flud fell in behind Espe, wi,h ano,her Honda pilot, Ryan Serrano, working his way into third. When the checkers came out, it was Espe, Serrano and Flud finishing in the top three poSitions. Overalls went to Espe, Flud and Tallent. Kawasaki rider Justin Bogle decimated the 6Scc Modified (7-1 I) class. Bogle go, ,he holesho, and held a commanding lead in bo,h motos, leaving the other riders to race for second place. Garrett Comer placed second in moto one, with his fellow KTM rider Riley Bam! Bam! It's a Pair for Peeblesl ~ STILLWATER, OK, FEB. 26·27 W 0.. Thomas Hahn rails a corner en route to the 12Scc A/Pro Sport victory at the Lore"a ~nn's area qualifier at Cooperlan Raceway. Wolfe rounding out the top three. Moto two saw Colt Nichols finish second. with his fellow KTM rider Ashton Fitzgibbon following in ,hird. Nichols (4-2) ,ook second overall, while Wolfe (3-4) claimed ,hird. The amount of talent this year is amazing and will make for great racing at the regional qualifiers. Make a point to attend one near you. R!SULTS Saturday 5 I STK (4-6) SHAFT/OIL-INJ: I.
