GFI Winter Series Round 3: AMP National Track at Prairie City Mighty Mo on the Gol By JIM AND JUSTIN ENOS ,---------------,'" a z w RANCHO CORDOVA, CA, FEB. 13 ::; =; .. R ound three of the GFI Winter Series saw >- Thousand Oaks/FM F/Shift/Scott/DVS- ~ backed Yamaha pilot Charlie Morrison continue I to put in solid rides in the 12Scc and 250c( Pro classes, and on this day he was rewarded with a Q. pair of overalls for his efforts at the AMP National Track at Prairie City. Morrison is cer- tainly on top of his game these days, and he appears to have shaken the crash demons that have plagued him for the last several years. In the 250cc Pro class, Morrison found Wright Motors/Off Road Outlets/Pro Actionbacked David Gassin game as the two battled early in both motos. Gassin, who never gives up no matter what the situation, came up short, though, as Morrison set a blistering pace and rode mistake-free. Gassin earned the two spot overall via a 2-2 shOWing, while Washington resident Dan Moore made his trek south worthwhile by rounding out the top three with a consistent 3-3 on the day. Morrison was once again unstoppable in the 12Scc class, as he bested the seven-rider field with another set of back-to-back mota wins. Behind him, Nevada's Tommy Jean and Moore fought over the two spot, and it. was Moore who got the nod with his 3-2 effort, while Jean followed up with a 2-3 for the third spot on the day. A competitive field of 250cc Intermediates saw Aron Harvey and Jordan Mockridge swap mota wins; Harvey proved to be the most consistent on the day, as his solid 1-2 punch earned him the top spot. DH Cydes-backed Luke layton's impressive pair of thirds edged out Mockridge's 1-5 efforts for the runner-up spot on the day. A huge 2S-rider field of 12Scc Intermediates featured plenty of action, and it was Yamaha pilot Austin Ingalls who came out on top with a 1-3 ride on the day. Kyle Kent, who had a good second-moto battle with Ingalls, snagged the two spot with his 4-2 showing, while secondmoto winner Curtis Roe rounded out the top three with a 7-1 tally. In Schoolboy action, Bryce Huffman piloted his Suzuki to the overall victory via a 2-1 ride over fellow Suzuki pilot Justin Enos, who went 1-3 on the day. Ryan Kirk kept things yellow all the way around as he rounded out the top three aboard his Suzuki with 3-2 rides. RESULTS Pee Wee Track 50 (4-6) MOD: I. Scony Snow (lem). 50 (4-6) STK: I.
