Honda Carries Hondas Honda was showing off its new Ridgeline truck on the Daytona International Speedway infield prior to the AMA Supercross at Daytona's Bike Week. Now the company finally makes a vehicle that can haul the other vehicles that we've come to love motorcycles. The new Honda Ridgeline is loaded with truck essentials, such as rough-road capability, durability, rigid construction and plenty of versatile cargo room. Whether you throw down big payloads or rough roads, this rig can handle it. The Ridgeline is built to take punishment. The SOOO-pound towing capacity and ISSG-pound total payload capacity is more than enough to haul around a couple of motorcycles. Its strength comes from an integrated closed-box frame with unit-body construction and powerful, 2SS-hp, V-6 engine. The Ridgeline has heavy-duty agility, efficiency and a big dose of durability. Tough l:u§tomer Texan Don "Bubba" Shobert was the king of dirt track at the height of the Honda vs. Harley-Davidson factory wars in the mid-I 980s, winning three straight titles (1985, '86, '87) and appearing set to tie Carroll Resweber's record of four straight when his charge was derailed by a disqualification for being one pound underweight at the 1988 Syracuse Mile. Shobert left dirt track in 1989 to pursue a full-time road racing career. Photo by Cycle News archives.
