Don Canet's STTARS Three Brothers Racing Winter Series Round 3: Grange Motor Circuit Trachy's Perfect Day By JAMEY BLUNT APPLE VALLEY, CA, FEB. 13 \ A /hat a great day at the Grange Motor CirV V cuit: perfect weather, and superb track conditions, due in no small part (0 Jeff Edwards, providing the best dirt section to date. It was an even grater day if your name was Gary Trachy, for he not only had perfect scores for all his events, he set the fastest lap time of the day at one minute and 3.4 seconds. to top a total entry field of 176 riders. Hahm Motorsports' Trachy (eye candy on a motorcycle) started his perfect day in the "Factory Pro Racing" 450cc main event. Trachy sat on pole by virtue of his heat-race victory. But Currie wasn't through: He came back at Ross. Meanwhile, Arai's Brian Whitlock and johnny Nicoll came up from midpack to finish fourth and fifth, respectively. Currie fell in the dirt section, relieving Ross of any pressure, and Trachy would cruise to the victory. Trachy's perfect day came to an end in the Open Expert main. KTM's Micky Dymond led off the line. but visible marks from his rear tire indicated it was shot, and he eventually faded to fourth. Trachy got away in second but qUickly took over the lead and never looked back. Oxtar Boots' Ross again finished second to Trachy, with Tokyo Mod's Currie third. However, launching (rom the outside of the Other spectacular rides came from Shane Ginter in the Beginner main, where he topped front row was Wheel Wright's Cameron a field of 30 on his Malcolm Smith KTM, and Welsh, whom anyone is hard-pressed to beat Brandon's cousin Casey Currie. who bested the Novice class in a hard-fought battle among to "Jason's Corner" (a.k.a. turn one). Exiting turn one, the order was Welsh, Trachy, TLD's Brandon Currie (on a 4S0cc Yamaha last seen under Tommy Hayden dressed in green), joker Machine's justin Ross, and Geoff Cesmat, who had come all the way from Colorado. Entering the dirt section on the first lap, Trachy went up the inside of Welsh to take over at the front. Trying to retaliate, Welsh went to the outside which was a mistake, as Currie and Ross both went by before Welsh knew what happened. On lap three, Ross got a drive up the front straight and took second away from Currie. aboard his Maxima/661/Axo-backed Honda. Robbie Dunham overtook Philip Wurster for second place on lap two and held that position for most of the race before encountering problems toward the end and finishing fourth. Wurster inherited the second-place finish, ahead of Gabi Abayov. Answer/FMF/Titeq-sponsored Anthony Barbacovi was equally impressive in 2S0cc Intermediate action. easily outdistancing Tracy Hrach and jordan Burroughs for the victory on his YZ250.
