humble Mike Lafferty
said about his victory
at this year's 55th running of the Alligator
Enduro. The factory-backed KTM rider
rode an EXC 400 four-stroke and
dropped a total of eight points over the
60-mile course.
Finishing second with a score of nine
points was Southeastern Enduro & Trail
Riders Association (SE&TRA) points leader
Stephen Edmondson, riding a KTM 250 EXC.
"I had a pretty good ride except for getting lost in the last section, and my bike
worked great," Edmondson said.

Rounding out the top three was National
Enduro champ Randy Hawkins. Hawkins
tied Edmondson on points but came up
short on the tiebreakers.
"This was a good event this year,"
Hawkins said. "I knew Mike was going to be
tough to beat here. I gave it a good shot,
and maybe 1 will get him back when the
Nationals start."
The Alligator always brings out some of
the best off-road riders in the country, and
it's hosted by the Daytona Dirt Riders and
co-sanctioned by the AMA and SE&TRA,
and the popular event never has a problem
reaching its 500-rider limit. This year, there
