there to win the 33rd AMA Superbike
National of his illustrious career.
"To be honest with you, what's gone
on this week is a little bit pathetic,"
Mladin said after earning the win. "The
fact that [Formula] Xtreme is the main
race here at Daytona, I think, is pathetic.
The fact that the Superbike guys had a 15minute [actually 25-minute] race and it is
almost a support race for this weekend, I
think, is crazy. Our qualifying times were
five-seconds-a-Iap quicker than theirs. If
they are going to call that the main class,
then it's a slow main class."

he's a force to be reckoned with. His second place was also a solid start for Ducati,
the Italian manufacturer often times having poor luck in the 200. Not so in the
sprint race, however, as Hodgson kept
Mladin in check throughout, though he
was never able to seriously threaten.
"I got a good start," Hodgson said. "It's
