ARDMORE, OK, FEB. 5
H
ardy Murphy Coliseum in Ardmore, Oklahoma, echoed to
the thunder of dirt-track motorcydes again, as Carter County Dodge presented round seven of the AMP Indoor Series.
Jacob Robinson, riding a BBR Honda, banled for the win in
the Pee Wee A and B divisions.
"I have made some adjustments in the right direction, said
tuner Brian Isbell. "We get support from BBR on these Hondas.
They make tractable horsepower. and the clutch works to the
rider's advantage. We are beating KTMs and Polinis with Hondas."
Robinson leads the points in the Pee Wee B division. His sister,
Hope Robinson, also aboard a BBR Honda, is in a tie for second
with KTM rider Hunter Watson from Texas. and last season's
champ, Colton Cameron, trails in fourth. Cameron leads the Pee
Wee A division, with Jacob just five paints out in second, and
there's another tie for third, between Hope and Watson.

The 6Scc points leader, Nathan Varano, aboard his KTM
ACE Unlocking Special, finished fifth in the round. Newcomer
Jake Hull from Weatherford, Texas, one of the Hull's Hot Shoes
Racing team riders, took the win riding a Big Green Machine
Kawasaki. Watson took second. Riders from both sides of the
Red River that separates Oklahoma and Texas battle for points.
Mustang, Oklahoma's Austin Medrano, aboard the Adam's
Racing-sponsored Honda. won the hotly contested 85cc
division. Cory Wix of West Lake, Louisiana, battled with the
Oklahoma boys.
Again, the 12Scc/250cc class was packed with action, as
Justin Elswick, aboard the PPR/Dopps Racing/Dayco Honda,
took another win, making it three in a row.
The Open Amateur Red River battle continued between
Oklahoma rider Elswick and Texas rider Travis Hull. Riding his
BH Racing/Hull Hot Shoe Soocc Honda, Travis led on lap one.
Elswick, aboard his 250cc Honda. moved up to the point to
lead the next four laps. Fans watched the fierce battle between
Travis and Elswick lap after lap. Travis got around Elswick on lap
six, only to fall back on lap seven. On the white-flag lap, Travis
was on the inside of Elswick coming out of tum two; the two
riders tangled, and it looked like they were hung up together.
Down the back chute, they crashed in a massive high-side, and
Elswick was smashed under both of the bikes. Texan Michael
Carter, riding for BH Racing, took the win.
