Mutant Motorsports Winter Storm Series Round 2: La Grange OHV Park McDonough McNificentl By KRIS HALLEE LA GRANGE, CA, JAN. 23 w: 1 McDonough wasn't flawless, but his races were crowd favorites at round two of the Mutant Motorsports/Mis- sian Motorcycles{Tracy Chevrolet/Extreme Mororsports Winter Storm Series at La Grange OHV Park. The 14-year-old McDo- nough has been getting faster every weekend, it seems, grab· bing holes hots and fighting off other fast Novices such as James Velasco, Santiago Betancourt and J.J. Karmann. "Velasco is riding really good right now, and [Nicholas] Baker was riding really fast," McDonough said of his competition. Karmann and Velasco would put themselves in the best position to upset McDonough, but Betancourt would be the only one to pull it off. McDonough grabbed the holeshots in all of his 12Scc Novice and 2S0cc Novice motos on his Tracy Chevrolet/Extreme Motorsports/Mach 1/I-MolO/BR I-backed Yamaha YZ2S0F. In the first 250cc Novice moto, he led from start to finish, with Karmann in second, but not within striking distance.
