Bubba Update: It appears that Kawasaki's
James Stewart will retum to action at the
Orlando Supercross, but if he gets the okay
from his doctor and he feels 100 percent, he
could retum earlier. Stewart is healing quickly
from his broken arm and has already started
riding again.
Chad Reed will leave
Sunday to retum to
his home in Florida,
where he'll stay for
the rest of the year,
now that the Supercross Series will be
taking its long East
Coast swing and that
there are only a few
rounds, including the outdoor Nationals, left
to be held on the West Coast for the rest of
the year. ''I'm really excited," Reed said
about going back home to Florida permanently. "I fly back tomorrow morning [Sunday] early, I can't wait. I have two brandnew tracks back there, never been ridden,
and I'm excited to have that available to
me. In Florida, my life changes a lot. I have
a lot more time to myself. I can do my deal,
play some golf and just have a fun time."
For the first time in a long, long time, Ricky
Carmichael had to transfer to the main
through a semi. While leading his heat race,
Carmichael crashed pretty hard over a section
of jumps and was lucky to come out of it
unharmed, but the same could not be said for
his bike. "I just tried to scrub a little too much
speed off that little obstacle there before the
triple, and my front tire didn't hit the top of it
there good enough, and I endoed into the
third one," Carmichael said of the crash. "I
kind of went over and tweaked my bike,"
Jeremy McGrath had an interesting thing to
say about all of his holeshots tonight: "It's the
weirdest thing, you won't believe it," he said.
"I could feel I was going to get the holeshots
today. It was the weirdest thing. Before I even
came to the track I was like, 'I'm going to get
some holeshots today.' It wasn't like I was trying to tell myself, it was like a feeling I had. It
was amazing: hadn't had a feeling like that in a
longtime."
Team MotoXXX's
