Mark Schmidt (419) leads Terry Hahn (94) and Roy Nahger (93) in the 2S0cc Pro final in Lake Koshkonong, Wisconsin. In the combined Over 40 and Over 50 contest, Nafzger grabbed the early lead and left Jerry Westhouse and Terry Hahn to battle for second. Westhouse took second overall and first in the Over SO class. Mike Dugan took his 1979 Honda XRSOO to victory in the Vintage c1ass_ First-time ice racer Paul Pellett took second on his vintage Yamaha. Mike Betka held the lead in the 12Scc class until he slid out in turn three, giving the win to Max Geib. Tiffany Figliuzzi scored second. In the 250cc Amateur class, Brock Schwarzenbacher, on the Arctiva.comrrrukke Boots/Max Power Cylinders CR250, took the holeshot and went on to victory. Serge Figliuzzi used the outside line to move from sixth on the first lap to second on the sixth lap. Dan Biddle took a hard-fought third. Nafzger captured the lead in the 250cc Pro class, leaving four-stroke Yamaha-mounted Mark Schmidt to battle with twostroke Kawasaki-mounted Hahn. As Nafzger set it on cruise control, Schmidt steadily moved up to challenge for the lead but came up a bikelength short at the checkered flag. Schwarzenbacher, on his CRSOO, again took the holeshot in the Open Amateur class. John Cooper ran second. Jake Kaiser made a charge through the field, moving up to challenge Bryan Austin for third. At the halfway point, Cooper fell in turn two, so the battle was on for second. Kaiser got by Austin and took it. Lance Wollin checked out in the Open Pro class on his Yamaha 450. Nafzger ran second, while Westhouse and Frankie Kaiser went at it for third. With one lap to spare, Kaiser took the spot. In the Dash For Cash, the Amateurs lined up on the regular starting line, and the Pros lined up in turn four. With the flash of the green light, Schwarzenbacher shot into the lead. At the crossed flags, Nafzger was up to second, with running Wollin third, but neither of these two Pros could run down the youngster from Beaver Dam. RESULTS I!I 125: I. Max Geib (Kaw): 2.
