THO AMA 12Scc Western Region Supercross Series of let those guys [Tedesco and Laninovich] get away. [After that], I just tried to finish the race strong." If it wasn't for that, Ramsey may have caught the young Laninovich for second. Ramsey began to make up time at the end of the race, and Laninovich could feel it. "Even Nathan [Ramsey], he was catching us," Laninovich said. "He fell over, and he was catching up fast." As for Smith, he was back in fifth, dicing with his teammate, yz 12S-mounted Brett Metcalfe, the only 12Scc two-stroke rider in the field. For most of the race, the two circulated the track with only a bikelength separating them. In the end, after a big miscue, Tedesco crossed the line a mere 2.232 seconds ahead of Laninovich. He said he was happy with third, and knew that after his bobble, 20 his chances for a win went down the drain. "It's just like Iget here, and its just one little thing and that's enough," Ramsey said. "Because these guys, obViously, are the best of the best, and you can't give them any slack." The rest of the top-10 had a few new faces in it. Smith was fourth, followed by Metcalfe. Privateer Honda rider Tim Weigand was sixth. Team Samsung Wireless/Honda's Josh Woods crossed the line seventh in his first main event since Anaheim I. Star RacingIYamaha's Bryan Johnson was eighth, followed across the line by Team WBR/Suzuki's Ryan Morais, who was a few seconds back. Team Red Bull KTM's Jay Marmont completed the top- IO.
