he mountains of north Georgia were unseasonably warm
for early January, allowing upwards of 400 racers to enjoy a
10·mile, two-wheeled battle at this year's Rattler Hare Scrambles at Diamondback MX.
The morning race brought some of the favorite local talent
to the battlefield, including avid rider and Tennessee track
owner Kenny Sanerfield, who took second in the Super Senior
A class and fourth overalL A perfect mix of other local riders
and those who travel with the SETRA series kept the
competition heated but made for fun-spirited banter in the pits.
A very light drizzle just before the drop of the nag added just
enough water to make the track tacky and the woods a little
slick. Outside of the occasional bottlene
