obviously what makes this possible.
The real test of the Power Race tires will come on the
racetrack in the hands of top-level racers. So far, that
also looks promising, as Robert Jensen recently broke
the lap record at the Jennings GP track in Florida using
the new tires.
Our initial impression with the Power Race tires we
tested in Dubai was that they were grippy with a lot of
feel. What more could you want?
Uke the motorcycles they are mounted on, tire technology continues to move forward qUickly. As five-time
World Champion Mick Doohan said in Dubai, the
Power Race sportbike tires are probably better than
the racing slicks that he used to win some of those
World titles. Michelin is inarguably the best MotoGP
tire. The proof is in the record book, so it goes without saying that these guys know how to make tires. If
Michelin puts the sort of technology and effort into
making a production sportbike tire that it obViously
put in its MotoGP program, then there's no reason
why the tire company can't make inroads into the
highly competitive supersport tire race. With the
introduction of the Power Race, Michelin appears to
be making that effort. We'll see where it goes.
