PART& UNLIMITED MotoCity Raceway Mota-Dome Broten Heats Up the Frozen Dome <1ffi\>X1fi> YAMAHA By DAN BROTEN STAPLES, MN, DEC. 18 W th temperatures below zero and severe wind chill outside, Willie Broten kept the action hot inside the MotoCity Mota-Dome in Staples, Minnesota. Aboard his Yamaha, Broten started the night out by sweeping the 505cc Pro class, winning both the heat race and the final over South Dakota's Clint Erickson. In the Open Pro class, there were I I entries - six from Minnesota and five from South Dakota. In the first heat race, veteran Pro rider Eric Brouhard took the win, over Broten. The second heat race was won by teen phenom Chris Laubersheimer, The Lone Star Feb 12/13 Mar 5-8 there was lots of mad action going on behind him. Laubersheimer was running second, behind Brouhard, with Honda SO-mounted Jason Reinke putting on a lot of pressure. His SO seemed to go like a 100, as he was getting a good drive coming out of the corners. Reinke finally passed Laubersheimer in one of the best battles of the night. This class had only five entries, but with its popularity, it will continue to grow. This night's race was round two of the six-race series, and the points battles are already taking shape. With good finishes in the first two rounds, Laubersheimer leads the Open Pro class by one point over Broten and two points over Erickson. The SOScc Pro class is being led by Erickson, and there is a three-way tie for second among Broten, Duke Erickson and Laubersheimer.
