SALEM, OR, DEC. 11
Vawasaki-mounted Robby McCabe manhandled the compe-
I'tition in two classes at Salem's Exposition Arena, posting
the overaU 12Scc and 2S0cc Junior-class wins aboard a pair of
KXs. McCabe has been a consistent top·three finisher during
the early portion of the arenacross series held at the Oregon
State Fairgrounds. but on this night he defeated full fields of rid-
ers in both classes and netted his best results thus far.
Southern Oregon rider William See was also impressive,
scoring a pair of overall wins in the 8Sec (12- J 3) and Supermini
classes. The rider from Medford, who was recently crowned
Oregon State Champion in both of those classes, showed why
he's the top-ranked rider in the Beaver State by trouncing the
competition in a rouf-for-four rout.
KTM rider Pete Sannan has churned out an impressrve string
of Pro-class wins lately, and this night was more of the same for
the 17-year-old rider from Albany. Sannan won the 125cc.
250cc and Open Pro classes. His best rides came in the 250cc
Pro class, where he beat Honda riders Monty Ware and Casey
Daugherty to take home the top money. In the other two
classes, San nan was the lone Pro rider and ran with
Intermediate riders.
The evening's opening race was the combined Open
Pro/Before The Hill contest. San nan jumped out in front of the
field aboard his 450cc KTM and was never challenged in either
moto. Before The Hill Intermediate-class competitor Travis
McMackin trailed San nan in each outing and finished first in his
class, trailed by Kevin Petrushkin and the top-placing juniorclass rider, Brad Batchelor, who won both junior-class matos,
~
leading Allen Yother (2-3), Shane Skiles (6-2), Chris Egan (4-4)
and Levi Bishop (3-S) into the top five.
McCabe's first overall win came in the 250cc junior class.
