Rocky Mountain ATV/MC
World Off-Road Championship Series
(WORCS) was also the off-road debut
for Suzuki's newest moto-thumper, the
RM-Z450, and former WORCS champ
Mike Kiedrowski would not only make

his return to the series a winning one.
but he'd also make the 450's debut in
the off-road scene a winner. And this all
came on the heels of Saturday night's
125- and I 25cc-c1ass sweep at the
Phoenix Supercross!
''I'm really happy about the bike,"
Kiedrowski said. "When I got on it and
rode it halfway through [last] year with
R&D, I knew we'd have a good bike,
and I like riding a bigger-size bike; I
ride them well. It was a good race, a
good event."
Joining the FMF/Dunlop/O'Nealsponsored Kiedrowski on the podium
was early leader and runner-up Lance
Smail, and third-place finisher Nathan
Woods, the defending WORCS champ.

got into the first corner of the two-hour
Pro race with a slight edge over
Kiedrowski and fellow Montclair teammate Woods. Smail was seemingly
buried mid pack, but he quickly slashed
through the field and chased only
Kiedrowski and Woods as they completed the first lap. A lap later, Smail led
on his Tuning by Travis/Maxxis/Moosebacked KX2S0.
"I just put some good moves on
everybody, and I think I surprised a lot
of people in the rough, nasty stuff,"
Smail said. "I knew I had to make my
moves and get up on those guys before
they got away. When I caught them,

Kiedrowski has been missing fram the WORes series for a cauple af years,
but he came back and picked up right where he left off.
