III new Ihertff in toWIl, and he goes by the name of Darcy Lange. But he's not the only one maintaining order In the National Arenacross SerIes, as his deputy, Richmond RaclngfT"eam Green/Kawasaki teammate jeff Northrup, is also gaining the respect of his foes and fans. While Lange has been tearing up this year's Arenacross Series, Northrup has been turning up the heat as well, coming away with a win of his own at Baltimore's First Mariner Arena But Lange was still the man, coming away with three wins. Lange posted both main-event wins Friday night, as well as the 2SOcc feature Saturday night. "I can't say enough about my sponsors: Richmond Racing, Team Green. Pro Circuit, No Fear, Silkolene, Pirelli tires and Etnies Shoes. All of these guys deserve thanks for helping me out like they do," Lange said. Richmond Racing teammates Northrup and Evan Laughridge ran up front all weekend, too, and were both equally capable of snatching a win at any given moment. The frenetic pace saw the front-runners lapping riders sooner than in previous seasons. Northrup won Saturday's 12Scc main over Shogun Yamaha teammates josh Demuth and Chad johnson. Northrup also won the Dash For Cash on Saturday. josh Demuth won Frlday'$ over $2000. RIchmond Radna Teddy Maler made good use of a greet start to secure his career-best third In the I25cc main on Friday. PPG/Motoworld/Suzuki's Branden jessemen nailed flfth place in Friday's 12S and 2SOcc main, as well as Saturday's I25cc main. Brad Hagseth, of the FBC/PPG/Troy Lee Racing Team, managed a top-flve flnish on Saturday in the 2SOcc class, as did Total ControVSerious Racewear/Moosesponsored jim Neese. The pace in Baltimore was so intense that some riders struggled to keep pace with the leaders. The generous Baltimore fans stepped up to the plate and donated over $2000 dollars for Friday night's Dash For Cash. This set the stage for a ferocious battle. Demuth and Lange hammered each other the entire length of the Dash For Cash and were never more than a bikelength apart, but in the end, Demuth prevailed by barely a wheel to take the dough back to Texas. Team Faith/Fly Racing/Bobby j's Yamaha-mounted Kevin johnson won both nights' Extreme jump-Off contest with sick "cliffhangers." "The track is super tough today," Demuth later said. "It was a case of just trying to stay up more than trying to move forward."
