1M THO World Supercross GP Serles/AMA THO Supercross Series him [in the heat race]. I just kind of overjumped the whoop and got in the bottom of one where it was kind of cupped out and blew a hand off [the handlebar], and all hell broke loose after that. I bounced up quick and I was ready to go, I got to the bike and kind of realized that I wasn't that ready. I went back and worked on the bike. It was kind of bent up, and from that point on, you just do what you can do." Uning up for the main later on, Windham said that he still wasn't quite right. "I was just dizzy from [the crash]," Windham said. "I didn't get knocked out or anything, I just was a little easy all night from that point on. The only thing that kept going through my mind was the championship. I just had to do what I had to do. I'm definitely happy with my ride. I think I performed 16 FEBRUARY 2,2005 • well and did the best I could with the scenario. I wish I would've gotten up there in the first tum." Windham's teammate Mike laRocco finished out the race in fourth after starting off in seventh and, at one point, climbed to as high as third. "I had some good laps," laRocco said, "but I'm making mistakes these days, and I don't know why. I got up to third and was feeling pretty good, and then I missed the rhythm section like two laps in a row, and then Kevin got right on me and I took some bad lines. I smoothed out again, chased him for a few laps, and I made a mistake. He got through the lappers way quicker than I did, and I just kind of strolled in after that." Rounding out the top-five overall was seven-time Supercross Champion Jeremy CYCLE NEWS McGrath, who looked to be headed for a podium finish. The Honda rider held down third for four laps just before the halfway point, but both Windham and laRocco came up and got him. He spent the latter part of the race dicing with MDK Motorsports' Nick Weyand just did hold him off at the finish. Seventh place went to Sebastien Tortelli on the Makita Suzuki RM-Z4S0, followed by Kawasaki's Michael Byrne, Honda's Ernesto Fonseca, and defending FIM World Supercross Champion Heath Voss. eN ANGEL STADIUM ANAHEIM, CAUFORNIA RESULTS: JANUARY 22, 200S (ROUNDS 5/3 OF 17/16) HEAT I (8 laps, 1-4 transfer): I.
