The Yoshimura Suzuki team got a head start on the 200S
season. Weeks after the end of the season. Mat Mladin and
Aaron Yates were in Malaysia shaking down the new bikes.
They didn't have complete 200S motorcycles at the time.
and they didn't really have them here. Mladin's machine
was constantly evolving. at least until the Tuesday afternoon crash that ended his test.
With Mladin on crutches. Ben Spies took over. The 20year-old Texan grabbed the top spot and never let go.
He'd end the three-day test with the fastest and most
consistent times. Spies ran the fastest lap of the test. a
I:39.701. on Wednesday afternoon. Mladin ended up second. and Aaron Yates was fourth, a strong showing for the
Yosh squad.
