.JU5t. Karting Around Fox Racing introduced its new V3 Pilot motocross helmet to members of the motorcycling media at a press conference held at the indoor go-karting facility Dramo One in Anaheim, California, With rain wreaking havoc on Southern California recently, Fox's original plan of hosting a ride day at the new Competitive Edge Motocross Track to sample the new V3 had to be put on the backburner. A jet ski would have been a necessity to navigate the sloppy course. instead, the helmet's coming-out party was held at the indoor karting facility, where all the guests were able to stay warm and dry while also testing their karting prowess. The all-new helmet is a first for Fox, as the company has never designed and manufactured a proprietary helmet in house. The V3 is what Fox calls. "The evolution of the Fox Pro Pilot helmet." This new melon protector was designed with input from both Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart, and it boasts a host of new design features, which are patented by Fox in order to discourage any copycats. Weighing in at just 2.9 pounds, saving weight was the obvious goal of the V3, as the helmet is made from Kevlar, carbon-fiber and fiberglass composites, and every single metal piece on it is made from titanium. Once the business portion of the event was finished, everyone suited up, sporting new lids, and took to the track. if you have never been karting, it's a definite must for any racer, or anyone with a competitive streak in them. The attending journalists were so addicted to the karts that hardly a soul took a breather until lunch was served. As for the helmet, Fox says that it should be showing up on dealer shelves in a few short months and will be available in a variety of colors. Fox Racing had a lot of fun introducing its new V3 Pilot helmet to the motorcycling press. The intro was held at the Dromo One go-karting facility in Anaheim, California.
