Laytan Meltan Pradudians Winter TT Series Raund 3: Franklin Field Arena Taylor, Melton Meltin' the Ice By CHRISTINE DUBOSKI TA", CA, DEC. 4 old winter nights have struck the LMP Winter TT Series, but 65cc Beginners were heating up the night with their show of talent on the newly designed circular track. In moto one, LMP-sponsored Kawasaki rider Garren Melton C got the jump on the start and took the early lead. Suzukimounted Toby Taylor didn't take long to start putting the pressure on Melton. Though Melton was able to gain momentum down the straightaways, Taylor would be on his back fender through the turns. Melton held on for the checkered flag in moto one. with Taylor taking second. With the motors rewing on the line in moto two, Taylor took the holeshot, leaving Melton behind. With his newly acquired TI skills, it didn't take Melton long to be knocking on Taylor's back door. Melton took a chance in a corner and made the pass into first. On the final lap, Melton bobbled, allowing Taylor to get by and take the checkered flag for the mota-two win and the overall race victory, with Melton just half a wheel behind and placing second overall for the night. Though she was making her TT racing debut in the escc Beginner class, Kristin Hokit is not new to racing. She has raced BMX at the National level for several years, which showed in her racing techniques. With a full gate of ascc Beginners on the line, Dalton James took the holeshot and kept the lead for the rest of mota one. Michael Taylor and Ricky Mills were fighting for second, battling side by side but being ever so careful not to make a mistake. At the finish, it was James first, Taylor second NAME _ M.il to: Circulatian Dept. Cycle News. Inc.
