Mutant Motorsports Final Five Showdown Round 2: E Street Track More Exciting Action on E Streetl By KRIS HAUEE MARYSVIUE, CA, NOV. 21 oing against the grain of diminishing OHV access, the E Street track was reopened to racers after two years of dormancy, thanks to the errorn of Scott Davis and Pete Di Giordano. E Street is a special place - a sand track carved into a riverbed in Marysville, California. that. when prepped, starn orr Silky-smooth and gradually transforms into a whooped-out roller coaster. Hundreds of riders descended on the infamous track for the weekend. E Street veterans shared battle stories from yesteryear while first-timers marveled at the track, kicking at the sand they would soon be roosting. James Velasco did more than his fair share of roosting in the I25cc Novice class. The top riders in this class are always fast: some are just a few races away from the big jump to the Intermediate class. With two divisions of 12Scc Novice riders on hand. the competition would be tougher than ever on a track that can be very unforgiving. Velasco could not grab a holeshot, but after two laps he would earn the lead in both motos, going I-I and taking the overall win. The Women's class fell late in the race order, ensuring that only the strong would survive the guaranteed-to~be-rough track. Hard chargers Amanda Kutchera and Jolita Nava had to settle for second and third, respectively, behind Jen Jones, who led every lap of both motos. Track owner Scott Davis came out in the first 125cc Pro moto to show anyone who could keep him in Sight the fastest lines on his home track. Cory McDaniel was the only rider who could come close to matching Davis' blistering pace, but Davis began to fade and eventually relinquished the lead to McDaniel. Hours later, McDaniel would earn the title of the "fastest rider of the day" by winning the overall in both [he 125cc and 250cc Pro classes. G RESULTS 50 BEG: I. layne Cole (lem): 2.
