MY OWN RACE 7 Chad Johnson Shogun Yamaha's johnson had a rocky weekend as he went 4-2-DNS -B. Friday went a litt le better than Saturday, as he finished fourth in the I25cc final and then second in the 250cc final, afte r grabbing th e holeshot and leading fo r a fe w laps. Demuth start ed the season on a VZ250 two-stroke, wh ile johnson rode the YZ450F fou r-stroke. Mer practice, Demuth said, "We just haven't had the greatest res ults, and we bo th thought it would be a good idea to switch ." johnson fared best with the change , as he finished sec ond on the 250cc twostroke du ring Friday's 250cc final. PPG/MotoworldRacing.com teammates Tommy Hofmaster and justin Brayton both made it to Rockford. It was their first appearance since being injured at the opener in Des Moines . Hofmaster, who cons iders Rockford as his hometown race, walked around and signed autographs, while both riders cheered on their re placements, Eric Sorby and Branden jessemen . 5pealdng of the Motoworldracing.com team, it looks as if the satellite Suzuki team may have a six-man 125cc East team because of the added riders and injuries that have occurred. Team manager Paul Undsey said, "We've got jessemen, Ho fmaster, Brayton, Bentley, Sorby and Goe rke on the East right now, but I may have to make a few changes. " The popular Dash Fo r Cash serie s is at its halfway mark, and Lange is dominating that series. He has six wins and 40 points , to Northrop's lB.
