McCabe and Weimer ran cnetwo until an aggressive move on Weimer's part parked bo th riders. WHloh the n assumed the lead and appeared to have it in t he bag unt il he a nd G r e g C r at er ta ngle d . Then Pro Circ uit/Smith/Renthal- sup ported Armstrong to o k the lead and he ld it to the finish fo r the w in and the $SOO paycheck. After a poo r start, Charley Bogard clawed his way into a seco nd-place finish , wh ile his fellow Texa n Scotty Trimb le , Stone and Wisconsin's Eric Kowalik ro unded out the to p five. Laansoo motored to the head of the pack in the 2SOc final, c but he was quickly shut down by both WHloh and Weimer, who put substantial ground on the rest of the field. Then disaster again str uck Willoh, who crashed . Weimer took the lead late in t he race and held it to the finish. Bogard got a much better start this time, running amid a four-way batt le for second, which eventually wen t to the Texan. Armstrong, Laansoo and Stone trailed. Weimer was again impre ssive on Saturday. The American Suzukl/Fty-backed ride r came out of the chute strong , and at the com pletion of the 125cc Pro main, he pocke ted another good -sized chunk of change, although he did have to conte nd with Willoh, who placed seco nd, ahead of Bogard, Armstrong and Kowalik. Things impr oved for Willoh as the night progressed, as he won t he Dash Fo r Cash, finishing ahead of Bogard , Laansoo and McCab e . "I bought my own bikes, and am just going to see what happens th is year," said the Maxxis/John Burr-b acked WHloh. "I haven 't yet flrrned up any plans, so I may co nt inue with the Regionals, but wo n't be doing the who le National Series, as I usually have." Willoh got the main-event win he'd bee n looking for in the 2SOcc class, wit h Bogard again his closest competition. Shaking off a crash on Friday night, Bogard was t he weekend's most cons ist ent finisher, w ith 2-2 - 3-2 placings. Vallerio was also on his way to a win in Friday's 8Scc O pe n final, but the whoops proved to be his down fall on this occasion and he lost several positlons . New Mexico's Eric Kelly took command from the point of Vallerio's demise and was neve r hea ded .
