For five laps. these two rider s swapped back and forth as if in ste reo - inside, o utside, t hrough the w ho ops, step-ups - yet each mo ta, Winters' L t raining pr evaile d , as Ange rman see m e d to wear out on lap six of eac h seven-lap race. The res t of the pack had to settle the re st of the positions among themse lves. In moto one, Ryan Fitzwa ter, Samue l Fitzwa te r and Bu r man rounded out t he top five. Samuel did not start the second mota, and Ryan cras hed out of third and did not finish. Burman placed third with 5- 3 finishes. Ch ristopher Smith's 6-4 score earned him fou rth overall, w hile John Kno tt' s 8 -5 tally was good enough to capture fifth. W inters and Anger man also battled in t he 250cc B class. In the first mota, Brad Hickman won after Angerman an d Winters ta ngle d. Angerman took second . but he did not start the second race. Winters regained sixth place after his crash. but he came back to win mota two! Ric km a n e arned th e overa ll with a co nsist e nt 1-2 punch. Knott ea rn e d se co nd place via 3-3 finishes. AMA District 14 MX Super Seri es Final Rou nd: Lag Raad MX Finley, Fletcher Fly at Super Finale By BART NEWMAN BRONSON, MI, SEPT. 26 D illo n Finley cut some fast laps at Log Road MX to lead the 50cc Senior class ho me in a do uble-mota-win day on the final weekend of the Log Road MXlDutch Sport Park/Re d Bud MX Supe r Series . Meanwhile, in t he Vet division, Jason Fletcher was whipping up on the boys in the Ov e r 30 and Ove r 25 classes and lining his poc kets with Log Road cash. In the first 50cc Senior moto, it was a freight tra in o f fas t kids up fr ont w he n t he pa c k r um b led t hroug h tur n one le d by Austi n St ein fe ld t, Ja rred W illia ms , Fin le y, Set h Harnischfeger and Michael Manga. Williams and Finley were on the move, quickly moving past Steinfeldt and going for broke out front. At the halfway point. Finley made a move on Williams to grab t he lead , and w it h clear track ahead, Finley flew to the checke re d flag unco ntested www.cy clenews .com to take the first-m ota win. Williams' trou bles were n't over ye t, as Harn isch fege r fou nd an inside line to his liking and also mov ed past Williams to grab second, Ste infeldt w as fourt h, holding off Corey Schocke , w ho finished fifth. In moto two , Finley got o ut fron t quickly, w ith Williams, Harnischfeger and Ste infeldt all hoping to make a move to the front before lap one wa s in the books . Finley was go ing w ild, and he soon had som e breathing room over W illiams, who was gett ing a lot o f attention fro m Ha rnis ch fe ge r. Harnischfeger made a move on Williams out back to take over second , but Finley was not to be denied and too k t he win and the overa ll.
