After suffering yet another cruel defeat in
Supermoto when he was clearly the fastest
man on the track, Kunzel took his frustrations
out on the 22-rider field in the Unlimited final .
The German ace came from the middle of
row one to trail HMC KTM's Benny Carlson
off the start. Kunzel trailed Carlson through
most of lap one, but he then got a great drive
off the final comer before the long front
40th Anniversary
straightaway and blasted past Carlson, completing the move for the lead on the brakes
into tum one. Kunzel then left Car lson and the
rest in his wake, running away to an easy win.
It was Kunzel's fourth win of the year in the
big. bike class, but it did not assuage his
Supermoto result.
"I have so much fun. and the track is so
nice, but the 450 race and the 450 bike didn't
like me ," Kunzel said. "The Unlimited is, yeah.
