I:amel .Jockey§ Dur ing the med ia events leading up to the inaugural MotoGP event at the Losail International Racetrack in Qatar, various MotoGP stars had the opportunity to sample local trad itions. Among the act ivities were rides on the ancient preferred form of tra nsporta tion: camels. Among the participants were Ducati Marlboro 's Loris Capirossi and D'Antin Ducati's Neil Hodgson . Hodgson even went so far as to brand ish a traditional swo rd from the region. The events leading up to the race were prob ably the highlights of both riders ' weekend. Both Capirossi and Hodgson retired from the race with mechanical problems due to the extreme heat .
