In the secon d moto, Hall ran straight to the
front and put his head down, pulling away for
the moto and ove rall win. Kawasaki rider Tyler
Good man finished second fo r the moto and
th ird overa ll. After a poor start, Panapinto only
managed to get fourth, behind Nick Click, for
the moto , which was good for seco nd overall.

ohn Lewis and Brandon Rob inson scored dou ble wins as Trail-Way Speedway closed out its
004 motorcycle season. Lewis beat Natio nal
number holders Raun Wood and Donnie Mullen
in both the 450cc A and Spo rtsman finals and
finished a close second, behind Wood, in the
Open A class. Rob inson closed out his Amateu r
ye ar w it h a flour ish, topping the 2S0cc and
450cc B classe s and finishing a close fourt h in
the Sportsman final.
After ge tting a re fres her co urse on "how
slick these local daylight t racks are " in the heat
race, Wood grabbed the 450cc A lead fro m
Mullen, Lewis and Shaw n Bae r. Lewis took to
the outside off turn four to take second before
the end of la p one and then put his ABBA
Systems/ Bromley 's Cycles/Schae ffer's Harle yDavidson machine under Wood off tu rn two for
the lead on the third lap. Wood stayed within a
few lengths. Baer and Mullen battled for third
to the en d.
Mullen led the Sportsman final, followed by
Wood, Le w is, Robinso n an d Jaso n Isennoc k.
Lewis got by Woo d on the outside off two on
t he seco nd lap . On lap five , Mulle n bobbled
slightly going into one, lett ing Lewis and Wood
slip past.

Battling fo r t he lead , Wood and Le wis pulled
several le ngths ahead . Twice Lewis pulled under
heading for turn three but didn't have the drive
to complete the pass.
Rob inso n's Ele ct r- ic-spo nso re d Ro binso n
took the 450cc B lead fro m Richard Heverly
down the backs t retch on lap two, with Cory
Texter, Nicho las Henderson and Jordan Harris
following. Texte r took second at the e nd of lap
fo ur, with Ha rris movi ng into fourth on the
following lap.
The 2SDcc B co ntest was a wire- to-w ire
win fo r Robinson, over Evan Baer, R.J. Hart ,
Chri s MacCa rty a nd Shay na Te xt e r.

Har t to ok t he O pe n B lead from Vince
Bower, Heverly, Cory, and Robert Cazillo. Cory
too k t hird at t he end of lap one a nd t o o k
second when Bowe r bobbled on lap four. Cory
pressured Hart for the lead in the closing laps,
but Hart he ld on for the win. After a slow start,
Harr is started rolling, gett ing by Bower for third
on lap six.
De re k He rsh looked like he was going to
ta ke h is firs t win in t he B5cc (7-1 I) class,
taking the lead fro m Hayde n Avery, Brett Pugh
and Tyler Kidwell . Pugh and Kidwell traded
third several times until Pugh took it for good
on lap six. After pressuri ng most o f the race,
Avery took the lead as th ey c ame off t he
fourt h turn to take the white nag. Hersh then
bob bled in the second t urn, lett ing Pugh and
Kidwell by.
Rich Mellinger took the Over 30 lead from
Todd Kendig, Vernon Caldwell, Joe Dohm and
Dam ia n Kocovinos and held it to t he e nd .
Kocovinos took third off the second turn on lap
three, but Caldwell re took it for goo d on the
seventh lap.

A lmo st 400 riders and the ir families came
~ u t fo r the action at Oh io Inte rnat io nal
Raceway on this dou ble-po ints day, and the
spectators lining the fe nce s were treated to
so me great racing action . AJ . Hattery came,
saw and con que red at O IR, going four for four
in moro wins in the hotly conteste d 12Scc B
and Collegebo y classes. Hattery too k the 125cc
B win over fast -charging KTM rider Bra ndo n
Bush and Yamaha-mou nted Matt Knowlson. In
Collegeboy action, Hattery again took the lead
role , leaving Dan Ferguso n, Jameson Sprosty
and Billy Shay swapping positions behind him to
sort out the remain ing sp ots in the top four
(and they finished in that order).
In ot her racing ac t ion , Bush use d hi s
momentum from the 12Scc B race to top the
Schoolboy division, showing Corey Nethi ng and
KF f-l-mo unted Dan Ha rbaugh th e fast way
aroun d th e OIR circ uit . Bush , Nethi ng a nd
Harbaugh went back and fort h, trying to sort
out posit ions, but in the e nd Bush's 1-2 tally
to pped Ne t hing's 3- 1 efforts for the ove ra ll
victory, with Ha r bau gh rounding out t he
pod ium with his 2-4 score.
Wome n's-c1ass winner Mikki Kolacz put he r
previous day's practice to good use, running off
and hidi ng from t he rest of the co ntenders.

dou ble points, with Che lsea Druktenis going 2-2
and Taylor Levik taking the th ird step on the
podium with 3-3 scores .
Racing action in the Se nior division s was no
le ss exciting . In his deb ut w e e ke nd in t he
O ve r 30 class, Jack Howell and Kawasaki rider
David Jon e s wen t at it hard in bo t h moto s:
they swapped wins, with Jones preva iling fo r
the overall.
"We were really going at it," How ell said
after mo to one, "and David made me do some
dumb things to stay ahead of him. I hope not to
have to re peat that!"

took the overall, with Singler second and Do n
Sprague th ird.
