Trachy finished eighth, while Chisum crashed his way back to 16th. Drew finished ninth , with Fast 50s Yamaha rider Muller Daniel rounding out t he top 10. Henry's victory vaulted him past Kunzel in the Supe rmoto class points standings. Ward still leads the points, with I36 to Henry's I 16. Kunzel is third, with 108. With double points on tap for the Las Vegas finale, and with ant icipation that the Vegas round will attract top talent from around the world, anything can happen, and it proba blywill. "I have to win. and whatever happens behind me, happens." 24 OCTOBER 27, 2004 • CYCLE NEWS After a hiatus to pursue other interests, Mike Menger returned to the AMA Supermoto wars and rode well to finish sixth. S U PER MOTO UN LIMITED After suffering yet another cruel defeat in Supermoto when he was clearly the fastest man on the track, Kunzel took his frustrations out on the 22-rider field in the Unlimited final . The German ace came from the middle of row one to trail HMC KTM's Benny Carlson off the start. Kunzel trailed Carlson through most of lap one, but he then got a great drive off the final comer before the long front 40th Anniversary straightaway and blasted past Carlson, completing the move for the lead on the brakes into tum one. Kunzel then left Car lson and the rest in his wake, running away to an easy win. It was Kunzel's fourth win of the year in the big. bike class, but it did not assuage his Supermoto result. "I have so much fun. and the track is so nice, but the 450 race and the 450 bike didn't like me ," Kunzel said. "The Unlimited is, yeah.
