hyped Alessi brother d uo (rom Califo rn ia.
Younger brother Jeff and older brother Mike
ran a to n of mot os , and they ran at the fron t
each time. On Thursday, the first day of racing,
j eff sped away with the overall 125cc A win by
grabbing holeshots and walking away from stiff
co mpetitio n suc h as Trum an and Suzu ki's Shaun
Skinner. j eff also topped the Four-S
troke clas
s,
while Mike won his two 250cc A motos by large
margins . Ski nner and Truman followed . wi t h
Lorett a Lynn's champion Eddie Ray fourth and
District 5 favorit e Ashlee Woskob in fifth .
Mike was using Th ursday's motos to dial in
the track for Sunday's National, and it worke d ,

A class , beh ind Ric ky Carmich ael and Kevin

ts
case, tomorrow usually doesn't come so q uickly.
The racing got tighter on Friday. w hen Sipes
and Chisholm [oi ned the ranks. Th e 125cc A
class was the first of the day, and [e ff nailed one
of his patented hole shots o n his FMFN arn er
CRF250R. Chisholm, on a Pro Circuit KX250F,
and Sip on a PR2 machine, follow ed, and the

the door for Sipes, w ho then we nt to wo rk on
Chisholm. Aft er about tw o laps of stu dying
Ch isholm's lines, Sipes made his move (or the
lead just as the wh ite flag came o ut . Chisholm
gave chase , and Jeff also stayed right on pace all
th e w ay until t he checkers, w h ich we nt t o
Sipes first .
The second -mota battle never mate rialized ,
as Chisholm and Jeff both slid out on the first
lap, w hich vaulted Sipes to an easy win.
Jeff was back and flying in the 250cc A class,
handily beating Chisholm and Skinner in bot h
motes (or an impressive w in.
In the Vet A class, fa nn er District 5 standou t
Shane Lawson made a rare appearance on his old
RM125. He battled local favorite Gaylon Dickson
and living legend Gary Sernlcs. Laws on handled
the intense pressure to win Thursday's overall,
but Dickso n (ought back (or the win on Friday,
Semics was right in the mix both times as well.
Also mixing it up were Team Green amateur
talents Justin Weeks and Brad Kiester, who were
nearly side by sidein every 85cc ( 12- 13) moto .
