Jeff Alessi won three classes on Thursday and two on Frida y at th e AMA District 5 Kawasaki Tea m Green Fall National at Steel City Raceway. Ryan Sipes and Dan Truman we re flying the KX RESULTS colors high, but perhaps the best perform ances of t he w eeken d w er e turned in by th e ever- Thursda y hyped Alessi brother d uo (rom Califo rn ia. Younger brother Jeff and older brother Mike ran a to n of mot os , and they ran at the fron t each time. On Thursday, the first day of racing, j eff sped away with the overall 125cc A win by grabbing holeshots and walking away from stiff co mpetitio n suc h as Trum an and Suzu ki's Shaun Skinner. j eff also topped the Four-S troke clas s, while Mike won his two 250cc A motos by large margins . Ski nner and Truman followed . wi t h Lorett a Lynn's champion Eddie Ray fourth and District 5 favorit e Ashlee Woskob in fifth . Mike was using Th ursday's motos to dial in the track for Sunday's National, and it worke d , beca use Mike grabbed third overall in the 250cc A class , beh ind Ric ky Carmich ael and Kevin Windham. Again. the Team Green Fall National usually highligh to mo rrow 's talent. but in this ts case, tomorrow usually doesn't come so q uickly. The racing got tighter on Friday. w hen Sipes and Chisholm [oi ned the ranks. Th e 125cc A class was the first of the day, and [e ff nailed one of his patented hole shots o n his FMFN arn er CRF250R. Chisholm, on a Pro Circuit KX250F, and Sip on a PR2 machine, follow ed, and the es, th ree waged a dogfight the e ntire mot o. First Chisholm stal ked j eff. and th en got past on a downhill - a move tha t also opened the door for Sipes, w ho then we nt to wo rk on Chisholm. Aft er about tw o laps of stu dying Ch isholm's lines, Sipes made his move (or the lead just as the wh ite flag came o ut . Chisholm gave chase , and Jeff also stayed right on pace all th e w ay until t he checkers, w h ich we nt t o Sipes first . The second -mota battle never mate rialized , as Chisholm and Jeff both slid out on the first lap, w hich vaulted Sipes to an easy win. Jeff was back and flying in the 250cc A class, handily beating Chisholm and Skinner in bot h motes (or an impressive w in. In the Vet A class, fa nn er District 5 standou t Shane Lawson made a rare appearance on his old RM125. He battled local favorite Gaylon Dickson and living legend Gary Sernlcs. Laws on handled the intense pressure to win Thursday's overall, but Dickso n (ought back (or the win on Friday, Semics was right in the mix both times as well. Also mixing it up were Team Green amateur talents Justin Weeks and Brad Kiester, who were nearly side by sidein every 85cc ( 12- 13) moto . 50 (4 . 6) : I. Da mian Thompson (KT M); 2.
