Sidi Boots honored heroes from the past and present recently at the Intermot Motorcycle Show in
Munich, Germany, honoring its motocross roots and its
present king.
Multi-time World Motocross Champion Joel Robert
represented Sidi's storied history. His award was
etched with the phrase: "With sincere thanks for your
help in creating the world's first motocross boot." In
classic Robert fashion, he then served the lucky individuals on-hand beers!
The present king of international motocross was on
hand as well. Stefan Everts was fresh off his eighth
World Championship winning season and was awarded
a silver plate, which read : "With thanks for the many
victories , championships, but most of all your friendship." There wasn't a dry eye in the house .
The post-event party featured a special Sidi cake,
whipped up just for the occasion, and featured what
could have been the most epic bench racing session of
all time , which ended with Everts vowing to wear a Joel
Robert replica Sidi boot at an upcoming event.
