The 35-year-old Henry was happy with his performance but even more enthusiastic about the 15,000 to 20,000 fans that lined the course to witness the race . "This was cool, and I really want to thank the City of Reno and the whole town for lett ing us come here ," Henry said. "It felt weird when we were wa lking T the track and seeing that we were going right through the city, right past peop les' front doors, right past their businesses . It was great. I wasn't sure how it was going to be. I just want to thank them for letting us ride on their streets. It was cool to see people hanging out on the third and fourth floors of their apartments, having a party, tunes cranking and watching the race . It was great to be in it and be a part of it." N icoll sto pped teammate jurge n Kunze l's win streak in the Supe rmo to Unlimited class by getting the holeshot and leading the race from start to finish . Kunzel finished second, some 1.690 seconds behind Nicoll, but much of the race was actually closer than the time differential makes it sound . HMC KTM's Benny Carlson was third . Like Henry, Nicoll was impressed with the turnout and the buzz surro unding the RPM-promoted race. 22 oaOBER 13, 2004 • CYCLE NEWS
